On March 10, 1942 he enlisted in the USNR and was stationed on the USS Little on May 3, 1945. After the war, my dad returned to Lincolnton, married and raised four children. In 1957, he moved his family to Stafford, VA and was employed at the Marine Corps Base, Quantico. He retired in 1982. He passed away on June 14, 2001 and is buried at the Quantico National Cemetery.
