Harold John Stewart entered into rest Tuesday, March 22, 2005. He was born January 22, 1919 in Newark, N.J. He was a loving husband for 59 years to Ronnie; loving father to son Anthony Stewart; daughter Paula Schultz and son in law Robert Schultz; grandfather to Brenda Stewart, Cory Olson, Amanda Stewart and great-grandfather to Linsey Olson. John served in WWII in South Pacific on U.S.S. Little from 1942 until 1945. He retired from the New York City Police Department in 1974 after 22 years of service. He was a member of N.Y.P.D. 10-13 Club in Arizona, member of VFW-9400, Sunnyslope, AZ where for many years he served on the Bar Committee. John was also a member of the American Legion Post 75 and Elks Lodge 335. Loved by many friends and family he will be greatly missed. Friends may call from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Rd on Thursday, March 24, 2005. Funeral Service will be on Friday, March 25, 2005 at 2:00p.m. at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Phoenix Memorial Park with Military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Az, 2222 W. Northern Ave, Ste. A100, Phx, AZ 85021.
