Jesse R. Wright CHESAPEAKE, VA

Jesse R. Wright, 83, of the 500 block of Longdale Crescent, passed away Jan. 19, 2009, peacefully at home. Jesse was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II serving 20 years and surviving the sinking of the USS Little off the coast of Okinawa, Japan. He was also a Nationwide insurance agent for 42 years. He is survived by two sons, Terry Wright of Norfolk and Gary Samuel Wright of San Diego; a daughter, Rickey Haughey of Maui, Hawaii; a brother, Dave Wright of Jacksonville, Ark.; a sister, Peggy Schwaiger of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren, Andrew Wright and McKenna Haughey. He is also survived by his companion of 19 years, Betty Palmer of Chesapeake. Burial will be at a later date in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
